                                    Mark your calendar! Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the gym. Your son or daughter must be five years old by September 15, 2012 to enter Kindergarten this fall. We look forward to meeting our incoming Kindergarteners and their parents this evening.

                                    Please remember that students should not be outside at school until 7:55 a.m.  There is no adult supervision until that time.  Students who are eating breakfast here may enter at 7:45 a.m. and go straight to the cafeteria.  After breakfast they should go outside.  We offer a before school child care program that begins at 7:00 a.m.  For those attending this program, you will be charged $3.00 per child, for any child who is at school BEFORE 7:45


                                    Activities to practice at home:

                                    Reading:
                                    -Sight word identification
                                    -Blend sounds into words
                                    -Identify a capital letter, period, and question mark
                                    -Make sentences

                                    Math:
                                    -Count and create sets up to 20
                                    -Solve basic addition and subtraction problems
                                    -Tell time to the hour with analog and digital clocks
                                    -Skip count by 2's, 5's, and 10's to 100
                                    -Equal parts and halves
                                    -Teach letter and number names and value to 31

                                    Science:
                                    -Identify living and non-living things and changes among them

                                    Social Studies:
                                    -Address, city, state
                                    -Using maps to identify places

                                    Art:
                                    -Using lines and shapes to make pictures
                                    -Coloring, cutting, and writing neatly

                                    Religion:
                                    -Name people's talents and how they can be used
                                    -Identify Bible stories

                                    Handwriting:
                                    -Continue to form uppercase and lowercase letters correctly
