At St. Patrick's since: 1997

Mrs. Weishaar was born in Tampa, Florida, and grew up in the south. Her family lived in North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas, and moved to Iowa in the 1970s. She graduated from Bedford Community High School in Bedford, Iowa. She and her twin sister attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, but she transferred to U.N.I. to work on a speech path degree. Wanting to graduate in four years, she added special ed and lower elementary to her education and discontinued speech.

She was married in Denver, Colorado, and moved to North Platte, Nebraska, where she taught second grade. After a year they moved 20 miles west to Sutherland, NE., and she taught first graders.

Mrs. Weishaar moved to Perry in the 1980s. She volunteered for the Dallas County Hospital Aux., worked as the Perry Library Story Hour Lady, and did some substitute teaching. She also had a day care in her home.

She has taught first grade at St. Patrick School since 1997, and now has an ESL endorsement.

This has been a nice place for Mrs. Weishaar.
